(More customer reviews)I searched for quite a while for a wall mount for my 42" flat screen.I looked at Omnimount's single and double cantilever mounts in addition to this Sanus, but eventually decided on the Sanus due to lower cost and issues about Omnimount's instruction clarity that were raised in other reviews written here.

I had some hesitation about trusting myself with this install, but Sanus' instructions really make the process quite simple.The hardest part of the install was just finding the studs in the wall.The instructions were clear, well written and included a page where all screws/bolts were represented in real-life size, which made identifying them extremely easy.Check out the Sanus website - it contains pdf links for their assembly instructions and you'll see what I mean.The install can be done by one person except for the step in which you have to lift the TV onto the wall to attach the arm to the wall plate.

The mount itself seems well made, and is quite heavy.Everything fits as it should, there was no forcing parts or screws/bolts to go together... the manufacturing tolerances must be pretty tight.Also, Sanus included eight sets of different sized mounting screws - increases the possibility of finding a match for your tv.I'd highly recommend this mount for anyone looking for a relatively easy install of a full-motion wall mount.

Notes:
(1) The TV moves away from the wall and swings side to side just by grabbing it and moving it around.However, if you want to tilt the screen, there are two hand turned knobs behind the tv that first have to be loosened, tv tilted to your preference, then knobs retightened.It can be done by one person but easier if you have another set of hands.Something to consider if you plan on tilting and untilting the TV often.

(2) The mount has two metal bars that run horizontally across the back of the TV.One of the bars may cross directly over where your connections go (for me, it blocked the HDMI and component video connectors) so pay attention to that - you will have to connect the wires before installing the bar to the monitor brackets.If you wait until after the bar is mounted, there's no way you can connect the cables.

(More customer reviews)I really like this TV mount.After a couple of problems with understanding all the pieces I needed to get to make it work, it's up and working well.The "Mount Finder" on most sites did not indicate that I also needed the PLP-V400 adapter for my specific TV (VESA 200x200).I found the technical support at Peerless excellent and responsive.I've been using this for a month or so, and it works well, is easy to reposition the TV, and keeps the cables out of the way.My only issue, and it's a minor nit, is that it doesn't keep the TV perfectly level throughout its whole range of positioning (not perfect means that the level bubble touches one of the lines instead of remaining dead center, or about 1/4" out of level at the extremes of positioning for a 37" LCD TV).But, I would imagine that would be hard for any tilt/swivel mount to do.I'm very happy and would buy this again.

(More customer reviews)First of all this is a good wall mount for the price. However, I did have some issues that I did not have with my more expensive downstairs wall mount. I hung a 52" Aquos and the arm immedately bent downward. So much that I had to remove the whole mount and turn it upside down. I did this so I could tilt the screen up instead of down. I've now achieved a flat viewing angle. Also, my television NOTICEABLY tilted to the left. I put some of the spare metal washers underneath the mounting hooks, leveled it and now it's straight. Again, for the price I don't mind doing a little extra work. But if I'd paid more money, I'd be quite upset.

(More customer reviews)This mount is heavy and has a lot of strength to support heavy panels. The cable management is much better than competing products that don't even attempt to hide cables.Be careful and take your time - the covers are made of plastic and make break if you try to force them.I would have liked to see metal covers, but with appropriate installation, they work fine and Omnimount may have been trying to keep the weight of the mount down.The cantilever arms are attractive and don't look as utilitarian as a Sanus or Peerless mount.They have a distinct strong and techy look.

Installation took me an hour, but there's no reason to rush the install.A mistake in preparation just makes it take many times longer. I recommend that you make sure you have a good stud finder and then use a finish nail to test the edges of your stud location.You really want to have the lag bolts hit the center of each stud. I used a decent box level and the provided template.The mount base, once lagged onto the wall, is fairly easy.The adapter plate for the plasma attaches easily.

I'd have to say that the hardest part is to have another person able to lift half of 150lbs of plasma tv up to the mount. Thankfully Omnimount has provided a method to rest the adapter on the mount until it can be fastened tightly.I placed a level on top of the plasma after it was mounted and made a tiny adjustment using the adjustment screws to ensure the TV wasn't canted.

So order a pizza, chill the beer, and invite a buddy and make sure you start early enough to watch a game afterward.

Note:many mount instructions show diagrams with the tv screen flat against the floor when installing an adapter on the back...That's not a good idea for a TV that has "this side up" in 17 languages on the box when shipped.Put a blanket on the top edge and lean it against a wall when installing the adapter to the rear of the TV and make sure that you check for depth on your screw holes before chosing the adapter screw.
