(More customer reviews)I bought one of these and it worked perfectly. However, you need to be sure that you have a Genesis model 1 or this will NOT work, because later models had a smaller connecter. If your Genesis has a headphone jack, volume control and power switch, then it's a model 1 and these A/V cables are what you want. If your Genesis lacks a headphone jack and volume control, but has a power "button", then it's a Genesis model 2. A model 3 is easy to tell because it's tiny and says "Genesis 3" right on it.

Hope that answers some questions for anyone who might have wanted to know, or wasn't sure about buying this!

(More customer reviews)As an audio engineer, I understand the importance of good cables. I saw HDMI cables for over a hundred dollars, and I began to wonder why I should truly spend that much.

With other A/V equipment that I've hooked up, the signals have been (mostly) analog. Analog signals are prone to outside interference in a much more obvious way than digital, mainly because most digital signals (including DVI and HDMI) include some sort of error correction and/or signal reconstitution technology.

I spent MUCH less on this particular cable, and I have to say that I'm completely satisfied. The cable is short enough and shielded thickly enough that even my inexpensive TV is able to produce a clean, artifact-free image 100% of the time.

(More customer reviews)This DVI-HDMI cable is a quality product and a GREAT VALUE.I use it to run my Dell notebook video output to my HDTV.The video quality is excellent - as crisp as I had hoped it would be.The 15 feet length makes for maximum flexibility for component setup and positioning.

I went to a large retail electronics chain (whose name rhymes with Best Guy) and they wanted sixty dollars for a 6' version of this cable, and it wasn't even Monster brand cable.Sixty bucks?!

Note: When used to display computer output on television, the audio signal has to be accounted for separately.In other words, you'll still need to run an audio line from your computer to your sound device.The HDMI connection doesn't automatically route your computer audio output to your television.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this not expecting much more than an inexpensive 1.3-compliant HDMI cable. What showed up and I installed is what appears to be the exact same cable as a $60 Monster premium cable I had already connecting another piece of equipment. I have since ordered two more. The cable, connectors - everything about this cable are EXACTLY the same as the higher end Monster cable except no Monster logo and no Monster price (pun intended).

As for performance, there is nothing wrong with this cable - works great. I have it connected from a 1.3a compliant Toshiba A35 HD DVD to a 1.3a compliant Onkyo SR705 Receiver then up to a 1080p LCD. Picture, sounds, everything is excellent.

Don't waste your money on more expensive cables.

I initially thought about doing the "not up to code" homeowner solution which is just fishing the TV's power cable behind the wall the same as the HDMI cables.However, I'm a stickler for doing things the right way and just didn't feel comfortable doing something non-code.After investigating the cost and hassle of wiring a new receptacle box into the circuit breaker I found out about this Datacomm product. It was really easy to install, the directions were straight forward and it best of all, it's UL rated and satisfies electrical code.The only suggestion I have would be to flip the bottom outlet upside down when installing the gangbox and outlet cover.That way you make it much easier to string the wires and cables.This tip will make sense once you open up the box and start looking that the directions.
