(More customer reviews)It's difficult to get a sense of the stability of this mount from just looking at the photo. I had some reservations about it, especially given that it only mounts to a single stud.
But, I saw it in a local store and instantly knew that it would definitely be sturdy enough. The entire mount is solidly constructed and well made.

The wall-mount portion uses three heavy lag screws, and are offset slightly from each other, so that the screws do not all hit the same wood grain on your stud.

My other concern was that it is listed as for a maximum of 40" display. I wanted to put my 42" Toshiba on it. The Sanus website lets you pick your manufacturer/model of display and they recommend a mount for you. Even at 42", this mount was recommended by the manufacturer. (Note: the mount specifies a max of 80 pounds. The Toshiba 42hl196 is listed as 63 lb after you remove the desk stand.)

Once mounted, my TV can rotate almost a full 180d to allow viewing from either extreme angle in my living room. And to have it extend 20" out from the wall is amazing.

The only minor downside, is that because the wall-mount portion only mounts to a single stud, you cannot precisely place the bracket ANYwhere on the wall that you would like. Thus the TV cannot be placed as precisely as you might like. However, given the full range of positions available via the swing-arm, it is not an issue at all.Oh... and I liked the black one, but a silver one is available too.
