It's heavy-duty, so it will support up to 100 lbs and it comes with a large variety of fasteners so that you can attach it to about any wall surface. In my case, it was for a Samsung 50" plasma set that went above a fireplace. The mounting bracket was installed to the sheetrock - or more specifically to the 2 studs behind the sheetrock(usually spaced 16" apart) - with 4 large lag screws and washers. The mounting bracket itself is on the order of 32", so you can only attach it to 2 studs at best. Once you figure where the mounting bracket goes and level it - then attach it to the wall. The 2nd part that attaches to the TV required no spacers - just 4 bolts - for a simple attachment. The hardest part is lifting your TV up and onto the wall mount. Have at least 2 people available for this. I used 3 people: 2 to lift the TV and 1 to hold the attached cables out of the way and into their proper position on the fireplace mantle. I recommend this product.
